The Commission conducted a one day peace forum in Rumuruti, Laikipia County on 9th November, 2016 that targeted over 400 representatives and leaders from the Samburu and Turkana communities to deliberate on strategies for promoting peaceful co-existence among them. Ethnic tensions have been common between these two communities occasioned by cattle theft, inequitable distribution of resources and political contestations and incitements. The meeting finally recommended agreeable strategies to promote cohesion between the two communities.
